Eye of the Beholder 2 - The Silver Tower, Level 2

Initial Wasp Area

Going up the stairs from Level 1, you find a bone-locked door to your left, and a passage going straight ahead.

The passage leads to an area full of wasps. Like mantis warriors, they are fast attackers, and they can both poison and paralyse party members. What makes them more annoying is that they go around in packs, sometimes by the dozen. However, you will sometimes see them hovering about, a couple of steps away, and only attacking you if you approach. In such cases you can strike them down using ranged spells and weapons.

The only useful part of this area is where you find a potion of cure poison, a femur and a copper key. When you're fed up, head back to the beginning of the level.

The Test of Faith

Unlock the door with a bone key and follow the passage to a room with four levers. Each of the levers opens a door, but it also opens a pit in front of another lever. The pressure plate resets the puzzle. Pull the NW, SW and SE levers to open the first three doors.

Go through the first three doors and push a brick on the lower part of one of the walls. Then, pull the last (NE) lever while standing over the pit - it's a leap of faith and you won't fall through. With all four doors open, you can now proceed.

Who To Trust

Along the way you will find more wasps, and finally a vision. The elderly cleric gives you a choice:

"The door to the left will lead you to the next trial.

"The door to the right is almost certain death."

Remembering his words in Level 1, when he told you that you can only trust yourself, take the door to the right. The teleporter will take you to the stairs that go up to Level 3. If, on the other hand, you take the left door, you are teleported back to the beginning of Level 2, and a party member suffers heavy damage.
