Alamango's dialogue v. 2.2
CONTENTS
Information about Alamango
This is just some information about Alamango, taken from anywhere.
It is here just for reference.
From Blackthorn forums:
Male Hunter, very attracted to Ulia but at the same time resents her for the
way she treats him. Well built, young, dark skin and kind at heart. He really is
the main hunter for the village but Ulia takes credit for a lot of his kills and
he can’t do much about it. Dressed in tribal warrior clothes. Spear is his weapon
of choice. His views are somewhat flexible when it comes to the Guardian
Notes
These are notes on the format of the dialogue, read carefully to be able to
understand the dialogue.
Each dialogue piece, which includes speech for Blackthorn and the NPC,
is labelled with a keyword. Most of these keywords come from keywords chosen
from previous dialogue pieces. When Blackthorn chooses a keyword as a dialogue
option, he will say a full sentence, which you will see where the keyword links
to. The destination keywords are not to feature in the game.
The dialogues said by Blackthorn and the NPC are marked with their name,
though that won't feature in the game.
Another thing of note is that dialogue pieces borrow some dialogue options from
previous dialogue pieces. I have listed all the possible dialogue options for each
dialogue piece, and I have marked new dialogue options with an asterisk (*). Those
dialogue options marked with an asterisk start off in the dialogue piece in which
they are marked. Dialogue options that were already selected should be omitted when
implementing the dialogue into the toolset. You should not be able to choose dialogue
options you've already chosen before.
An action apart from the dialogue, such as ending a conversation or giving an item,
is marked in red.
Opening Dialogue
opening
Before you is a strong and very muscular dark young man dressed in old tribal
warrior clothes. His sparkling blue eyes greet you in a friendly way.
Blackthorn: "Greetings."
Alamango: "Well met Blackthorn, word of your arrival has reached
me." He grabs your wrist in a rather unusual handshake. "How may I help
you?"

Blackthorn: "What do you do for a living?"
Alamango: "I am a hunter here. I often go hunting with Ulia,
and we both hunt with a spear," he sighs as if pleased about having such
a small thing in common, "though she has a considerable advantage over me
since her spear is enchanted."

Blackthorn: "Why do you like using a spear?"
Alamango: Alamango goes inside his hut and returns with a grand spear,
tall as a hut and sharp as a dragon's tooth. "You see," he shows you
the wide diameter, "with a spear, if you have the right strength, you can
make a larger hole in a person or beast than with something like an arrow. All
depends on physical strength. And besides, a spear is good even in melee combat
since you may easily attack and parry blows with a sturdy spear."

Blackthorn: "You hunt with Ulia?"
Alamango: "Yes, I must say it is a pleasure." Alamango blushes
slightly, and continues, "Well, it is certainly an honour to hunt with the
princess." Alamango feels he cannot hide his feelings any more and decides
to share them with you. "Well, really, I feel that she is very attractive.
However, I doubt whether she reciprocates, seeing the way she treats me. I really
cannot understand why she treats me like that."

Blackthorn: "How does Ulia treat you?"
Alamango: He leans over to whisper. "Now do not go and tell her what I
am telling you! Keep this between us. While she is not exactly cruel with me,
she ignores me when I try to be nice to her, and refuses to go for walks with me.
It is rather irritating.

Blackthorn: "Ulia told me I could ask you for information on the
Solari tribe."

you like to know? About the people of the tribe, our ways, or our relationships
with other tribes?"

Blackthorn: "Tell me about the Solari people."
Alamango: "We of the Solari tribe are a small but united people.
Our leader is Soluga, the Shaman of our village, and his daughter is Ulia.
Ulia is the princess, and probably the best huntress around." He pauses
for a moment and strokes his chin while thinking what else to tell you.
"Aljabo is the assistant shaman here. I believe he will be the future shaman
once Soluga leaves us," as he says that, a sad look goes over his face,
but he soon recovers, "and he appears quite suited for the job, seeing that
he can heal very well, though the people here do not take him seriously at all.
Fighter: A passing fighter hears the last bit, and decides to say
his own version. "Because he is not serious at all! Hah! He can only heal,
and cannot even defend himself!" With that, the fighter continues on his way.
Alamango: "Well, I think being able to heal is a good quality
for a shaman. Another of my hunting companions is Ulichika, he appears to prefer
the dexterity of archery to the might of the spear. He is excellent at is as well,
and there is no one that can match his skill. And how may I forget the great
Malachai? He is an excellent fighter, in fact he had killed six Ubi attackers
all by himself! Well, those are the major authorities here."

Blackthorn: "I would like to know about the ways of the Solari."
Alamango: "Many of us here follow the Guardian, and we fight the
Ubi to win his favor, as has been done for generations. However, there are some
of us that do not like the Guardian very much. This is mainly because of the
relatives lost due to sacrifice to him."
He leans over to give you some friendly advice. "However, I would advise you
to stay away from such people and such thoughts, as they can only mean trouble."

Blackthorn: "Tell me of the Guardian."
Alamango: Alamango looks a little tense and nervous. "The people
here all have different opinions about the Guardian. Whoever you ask will give
you a different version of who that person thinks the Guardian is."
Blackthorn: "What is your view?"
Alamango: "My opinion is irrelevant. Whatever anyone here may think,
we must follow the Guardian. Otherwise, the Guardian might get angry, and that
means big trouble."
Guardian: A chill passes through your bones as you hear something,
barely audible amidst the frighteningly fast beat of your heart. It sounds like
"Indeed."

Blackthorn: "Tell me about the other tribes and their business with
the Solari."
Alamango: "Well, we deal a lot with the Khilari and the Ubi.
We fight the Ubi a lot, as we have done for generations, for the Guardian's favor.
On the other hand, the town of Khilari is a good place for commerce, and we
trade pacifically there. We hardly deal with any other people in Narcoss, which
is the world in which you are now." He makes a swooping gesture to signify the
entire world.

Blackthorn: "Tell me about the Ubi."
Alamango: "The Ubi are our rivals towards the Guardian's favour. The
futile war that has raged so far has all been because of that." He pauses to
commemorate his friends that have been lost because of the Guardian and the Ubi.
"This war has been going for generations. I do not think that it will ever stop,
though I do think that both tribes have some of the blame for what is happening.
The Solari have accused the Ubi just as the Ubi have accused the Solari, though
many of the raids were started by the Ubi. They refuse to get down to the bargaining
table and find an agreement. Of course, we are forced to defend ourselves."

Blackthorn: "So Khilari is a commercial village?"
Alamango: He shakes his head. "No, it is a town. It is far bigger
than the Solari or Ubi villages, and is a great centre for commerce in these
areas. Both Ubi and Solari must not cause trouble there, or both can be hanged."
Blackthorn: "It is a neutral town then."
Alamango: "Yes. In the Khilari town, the Solari can trade with the Ubi,
as well as with the Khilari."
Blackthorn: "How do you know so much?"
Alamango: Alamango gives off a small laugh. "Well, I have been there. It
is also a great place of learning, for I have met some very knowledgable people
in the few times when I visited there. Do not ask to me tell you who, as I cannot
recall the names.
