ULTIMA COMMUNITIES
The Wayward Avatar has simply the busiest Ultima forums in the whole web. Pictures of the people of the Wayward can be found here and at a copy set up recently by Jaz which is more up to date, which is right here.
The Ultima Dragons Internet Chapter (UDIC) is home to all the over 15,000 Dragons around the world. However, only the Grand Roster with the list of Dragons is kept up to date. There is one Grand Roster in Alphabetical order and another listed by Date.
Hacki's Ultima Page is the best nitpicking community around, and probably the only Ultima nitpicking community around! Hacki attempts to show the truth about Ultima 9; as well as showing plot holes in older Ultimas. A truly wonderful website.
Exodus Machine hosts MOD projects, and has kindly hosted Ultima projects such as Ultima VIII - Exile and Ultima Forever. Exodus Machine works for project Blackthorn. His forums are quite busy, and good enough for any Ultima discussion. They are a well frequented community.
The Origin Museum, maintained by Joe and Paula Garrity, is dedicated to preserving the world of Ultima, by exhibiting interesting artifacts and items from the Ultima series and other Origin games.
Tom's Ultima, Infocom and RPG page offers awards for good Ultima sites and also trades in collectibles.
ULTIMA REMAKE SITES
Ultima: The Reconstruction - a site run by Voyager Dragon providing news about all the existing remakes.
Ultima 1 - A legend is reborn - one of the most promising remakes around. Led by Telemachos Dragon, Peroxide is using its own engine (one of the only two remakes using their own engine) and has already released two demos.
The Enilno project will be remaking Ultima 2 with its own engine.
Ultima 4 - The Dawn of Virtue is another very promising remake, also using its own engine. Jaakko Peltonen, the leader, has promised to release a demo "soon". Shadow of Light Dragon works here with Jaakko and four others.
Ultima 5 - Lazarus, led by Tiberius Moongazer, is using the Dungeon Siege Engine. Hacki Dragon and Shadow of Light Dragon, among others, work on this remake.
The Ultima 6 Project is another project using the Dungeon Siege engine.
Exult is an engine that is developed to make Ultima 7 run in Windows like it would normally. This is not a remake; it is actually like an engine upgrade.
An Ultima 7 Remake led by MMAzrael Dragon appears to be quite promising, as is evident from the screenshots. It will use the Neverwinter Nights engine.
Ultima 8 - Exile is the project that currently both Natreg Dragon and myself work on. There is redirection to the site here for those who hate long web addresses. This attempt to bring Ultima 8 back to life and correct inaccuracies as well as improve the plot is led by Corvwyn, who plans to remake Ultima 8 using the Neverwinter Nights engine. This project is the latest, in fact the website has only been released recently.
Ultima 9 - Redemption is an attempt led by Avatus to repair the faults of the original Ultima 9 and produce a new game capable of ending the trilogy of trilogies. Shadow of Light Dragon works here too. This project will be using the Morrowind engine.
Ultima 9 - Eriadain is another project that wants to produce a game worthy of replacing Ultima 9. Led by Moa Dragon, this project will use the Neverwinter Nights engine.
ULTIMA PROJECTS
Adventures of Blackthorn, an Epic Ultima Spin off project. Led by Windwalker, this project is making a wonderful adventure showing what happened to Blackthorn after being banished by Lord British.
ULTIMA PATCH SITES
Fans for Ultima is full of patches; it's a collection of patches in itself, just like Ultima: The Reconstruction is a collection of remakes.
Ultima: The Reconstruction also houses a good few patches along with its remake collection.
ULTIMA FANFICTION
My Lost Vale Page was made because Shadow of Light Dragon could not host the Lost Vale fanfic with pictures due to the amount of space they take. So this whole site emerged as a result of that. I also added music.
The homepage of Shadow of Light Dragon, probably one of the best authors, poets and dialogue writers around. She also runs the Dragon Press and is a dialogue writer for three of the above remakes.
The Dragon Press, run by Shadow of Light Dragon, is the host of all Ultima fanfictions. It has recovered all of its lost fanfics.
The original Virtue Stories that were made for Ultima 9 but never used make a really good read.
ULTIMA HUMOUR SITES
IT-HE Software offers a good laugh for Ultimas 6 onwards, as well as fun things to do. Truly one of my favourite sites.
Elijah is supposedly a 'remake', but rather it is just a funny site.
Selece Dragon's Wee Ultima Shrine offers more information on misbehaving in Ultima 7.
ULTIMA RESOURCES SITES
Ganesh's Site is great for resources on the Ultimas he has included inside. The resources range from walkthroughs to patches and other useful stuff.
Mysterious Sosaria has the most beautiful Ultima renderings in the whole web. Apart from that, it offers a tour around the land of Britannia, explaining each place in detail, as well as The Bard's Library - a library full of all the Ultima music from all the Ultimas.
Houston Dragon's Ultima Page has a Who's Who for Ultima 7 and another one for Serpent Isle. There is also the Ultima Resource Library. This is just a tiny fraction of what is in there, as there are all sorts of resources. Ultima 4 can also be legally downloaded from there.
The Other Codex is the website of Paulon Dragon, one of the most knowledgable Dragons in UDIC. If his site isn't good for resources, then I don't know what it is. He has all kinds of Ultima resources in there, as well as hundreds of links to any resources he doesn't have on his site. His website nearly matches the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom.
Ultima Lives is Ether Dragon's website of all kinds of resources. Ultima Lives after all.
La Legende d'Ultima is Sergorn's French website. It is great for all kinds of resources, and you don't have to be French to get a nice couple of maps from there.
Silva's World is good for general information on the whole Ultima series.
Underworld Dragon's Notable Ultima is truly excellent. It contains miscellaneous information about Ultima, including Origin People and History, among others. There are timelines on his site, and, most important, he has transcripts from most of the Ultima series, featuring the dialogues from Ultima 1-7 and books from Ultima 1-8. I could go on forever saying what this site has, so my advice is: see for yourself.
The Ultima Online Archive was once UDIC's information archive, but hasn't been updated for years. This does not mean that the site is not good for Ultima Information, however, as it is rather rich in information. It has resources beyond what show initially, as there are additional resources in the file archive.
Auric's Ultima Moongates is deemed by many as the web's best Ultima resource site. It maintains all kinds of the most useful resources, as well as The Moongates Ultima IV Annex which is the greatest Ultima 4 site I've ever seen. It has everything for Ultima 4.
Quill Dragon's Lair provides various resources, including documentation and dialogue, to name a few.
