The Shrines in Ultima V send you to the Codex (E9,E9) to learn
about misuse of their corresponding virtue. After the Codex teaches you what you
need to learn, you can return to the Shrine to claim an attributes bonus.
However, you will only be able to do another quest once you finish your current
quest and go back to the Shrine after visiting the Codex.
The eighth and last time you go to the Codex, it will give you some extra information, including where you must go to finish Ultima V and the Word of Power for Dungeon Doom.

"shade's egress", causing confusion, and since then it became wrongly known as the Shadows' Egress.
"and venture past ethereal words",
"wards"was confused with
"words".

"That which the world hath lost awaits thy coming", meaning that Lord British is waiting for you.
