Aliens

Most of the various sectors of outer space are dominated by alien fighters, keen to shoot down their enemies by means of their laser cannons. By destroying at least 20 of these alien enemy vessels, one may achieve the rank of Space Ace and enlist the aid of any princess in Sosaria in order to gain access to a time machine.

Before the archmage Mondain can be defeated, one’s mettle will first have to be tested in the farthest reaches of the heavens. ‘Tis said that the Evil One has formed alliances with starwalking monsters of unparalleled savagery. These malicious creatures stand poised to swoop down upon our people and devastate them. The need to slay the vile wizard is redoubled in the face of this threat.

Ultima I Manual

Mondain

Mondain is the main antagonist of the game. During the time of Ultima I, he has created dissent amongst the various powers of Sosaria and unleashed hordes of monsters. Thanks to his Gem of Immortality, he cannot be defeated.

Fortunately, however, he was not always invincible. By travelling back in time, one may destroy his Gem of Immortality. Both destroying the Gem and battling with Mondain are sure to inflict severe damage on the adventurer.

However, under the might of the adventurer's blows, Mondain eventually turns into a bat and attemps to flee. Except that there is nowhere to flee! Following the persistence of the adventurer in pursuing Mondain and continuing to pound him, Mondain eventually succumbs to his wounds, and the battle is won.
